Naturopathy

Naturopathy is a wholistic approach to wellbeing that considers the many physical, mental and emotional factors that influence how a person feels and functions. Naturopaths draw on traditional knowledge and evidence?informed natural practices to support general health and vitality.

I use herbs, homoeopathy, nutrition, diet and lifestyle practices as part of a personalised, wholistic approach. As a naturopath who is also a yoga teacher, my work is informed by yogic and Ayurvedic principles. Depending on your goals, I may incorporate Yoga Therapy, meditation, Reiki or Shiatsu to support your overall wellbeing.

Together, we explore the different aspects of your daily life — what you eat and drink, how you move, how you rest, your stress levels and the activities that bring you joy — to identify practical ways to support balance and wellbeing.

I use thorough case?taking, assessment and preventative?health screening tools to develop an individualized plan that aligns with your goals and complements your existing healthcare.

“If we could give every individual the right amount of nourishment and exercise, not too little and not too much, we would have the safest way to health” ~ Hippocrates

It is about finding what is going to work for you!

Inspiring you to do what it takes is my strength. With a little knowledge and encouragement we can all take the step to live well and love life.

What Happens In an Appointment?

If you’re living with a chronic or complex health concern, a longer 1.5?hour consultation is often the best place to begin. This gives us time for a thorough case history where we explore your health story, your current concerns and your goals for wellbeing. If you have recent pathology results, you’re welcome to bring copies so I can view them alongside your overall picture of health. Please also bring a list of any medications and supplements you currently take.

We look at the physical, mental, emotional and lifestyle aspects of your life to understand what may be influencing how you feel day to day. From there, I develop a personalised wellbeing plan that aligns with your goals and complements your existing healthcare.

If you’re returning for ongoing support or feel you don’t need an extended session, a 1?hour consultation is usually suitable. Shorter follow?ups are ideal for reviewing supplements, checking progress, answering questions or discussing non?urgent, acute concerns.

Iridology

Iridology is the study of health via an examination of the colour and structure of the iris, the sclera and the pupil using an iriscope and camera.

The iris is the most complex external structure of the human anatomy. It has a reflex connection to every organ and tissue of the body by way of the nervous system. It has been said: “the eyes are the windows of the soul”.

No two irises are exactly alike. In fact, each iris is as individual as your fingerprint. The colour and pattern of the iris fibres will determine underlying inherent weakness, which may or may not be activated according to diet, environment and psycho-social factors. Iridology can be used to determine potential health problems at the earliest stage. This enables you an opportunity to prevent illness and maintain optimum wellness.

Functional Testing

I sometimes refer clients for functional or modern pathology testing as part of a broader wellbeing assessment. These tests can be an investment, so it’s important to consider when they may be useful, which options are most relevant to your goals, and how the results can be understood within a wholistic, lifestyle?based framework.

  • Hair Tissue Mineral Analysis
  • Hormone Panels
  • Thyroid Funtion Testing
  • GI-Map
  • SIBO testing
  • Allergy Testing

Hands-On Bodywork Therapy

I am trained and experienced in several forms of body work and hands-on therapies.

Zen Shiatsu

Zen Shiatsu is a form of bodywork administered by thumbs, fingers, palms and elbows, feet and knees. The sucess of the treatment depends on the meditative activity of the practitioner. It is aimed especially at detecting the body responses to the treatment, which then influences the subsequent treatment step by step. Pressure is applied to all parts of the body along specific pathways (meridians). These are essentially the same meridians that are used in Traditional Chinese Medicine for acupuncture, though modified and extended by the originator of the technique, Shizuto Masunaga. It is understood that this technique stimulates the natural healing powers of the body, wherefore symptoms of disease lessen and vitality is regained.

Reflexology

Reflexology invites you to lie back, relax and enjoy a deeply soothing foot treatment. Many people find it comforting and grounding, with gentle pressure applied to specific points on the feet that correspond to different areas of the body. Hands and ears also have reflex points, and these may be included as part of your session.

Reiki

Reiki is a gentle Japanese practice developed around 100 years ago by Mikao Usui, a Buddhist practitioner. It involves light, hands?on or hands?off touch to promote relaxation and a sense of calm. Practitioners work with the concept of universal life energy, known in Japanese as Rei (universal) and Ki (energy), to create a supportive environment for rest and wellbeing.

A Reiki session is typically quiet and soothing, allowing the body and mind to settle. Some people find it a helpful complement to their broader wellbeing practices.

Ear Candling

Traditional ear candling to treat blocked ears, ear problems including tinnitus. I used to do this clinically and am now including it again…as it really seems to give some much needed relief. I forgot how nice it is and how well my clients say it works.

It’s not a cure…and it does not make any medical claims, however, what people say is:

  • It’s so relaxing
  • My ears feel better I have less ringing in my ears
  • The water in my ear seems to be gone now
  • Less sinus pressure
  • Relieved my itchy ears

For troublesome ear problems I recommend seeing your GP or an auricular specialist.

It’s mostly relaxing and I offer Reiki at the same time.

If you would like a professional and experienced ear candling session I am happy to provide this service.

Includes the cost of the ear candles.

Yoga Therapy

Yoga Therapy is an emerging profession that offers a personalised, one?to?one approach to supporting wellbeing through the teachings and practices of yoga. Working with a certified yoga therapist provides a structured, intentional space to explore movement, breath, awareness and lifestyle practices that align with your individual goals.

As a Yoga Therapist, I draw on yogic tools, practices and philosophies to support people in navigating the mental, emotional, physical and spiritual aspects of their lives. The focus is on cultivating awareness, capacity and balance rather than diagnosing or treating health conditions.

In an individual session, we begin with an in?depth case history and a collaborative assessment as part of a formal intake process. From there, I develop a personalised yoga practice tailored to your needs and preferences. Our work together is dynamic and evolves over time, with your practice adapted as your circumstances and goals change. The intention is to support you in developing skills, insight and confidence in your own wellbeing journey.

Yoga Classes

Yoga is far more than getting into shapes on a mat – it’s a practice of breath awareness, steadying the mind, and reconnecting body and breath. At its heart, yoga is about how we show up in life. It offers a way of living guided by values that support our wellbeing, our relationships and our impact on the world.

The physical postures help us explore strength, mobility and ease, while also inviting a deeper sense of presence. As the body softens and opens, many people notice a similar softening in their inner experience. As strength develops, a sense of steadiness and resilience often grows alongside it.

Meditation

Keep it SIMPLE! It does not have to be hard! Many of us do not find it easy to relax and let things go. Meditation gives us the ability to do this with greater ease. There are many different styles of meditation – sitting in silence, mantra meditation, moving meditation, mandala meditation – discover which one suits you best. The steps to the state of meditation can be learnt with some gentle guidance…then just practice! The benefits are worth it…peace of mind and improved wellbeing. Meditation is the experience of a still mind and access to Buddhi – higher consciousness.

Mindfulness

We all have ‘off days’…learning to live well is all about learning ways to ensure that those days are few and far in between. Being the best you, requires idientifying what is important to you and determining what VIRTUES you need in order to live well. The ancient practice of Yoga gives us clues as to how to best live so that we experience the most peace in life possible. When we learn to be present and see things as they are we experience less discord and more harmony. Being happy 100% of the time is not what life is all about…but accepting what is, learning to be content and taking appropriate action is a way to feeling better along this journey of life.
